This original abstract painting , "Squares 2", is part of my "Foundation" Series. In this painting I explore the creation of textured surfaces and how they interact with areas of smooth, saturated color. The grid structure reassures the viewer that things won't get too crazy while the deliberate variance of square sizes and different colored squares are used to create a compositional flow.

The materials used are acrylic and modeling paste on canvas.

The sides are painted black. The back is signed, titled, dated, and wired for hanging. A certificate of authenticity is included.
